COMBI ENGINES & ATTACHMENTS

HOW TO CHOOSE A STIHL COMBI ENGINE

Nothing beats the versatility of STIHL CombiSystems. Whether you need to do some hedge trimming, grass trimming or clearing up, the STIHL CombiSystem can do them all! The system is designed so that you can pick and mix between four different engines and 13 different Combi-tool Attachments, to get the combination that works perfectly for you.

But where should you start? Firstly, you need to pick the right engine unit. Consider how often you are going to be using the tool and what sort of area you need to cover. There are two options that are ideal for use in your own garden, and two that are designed for professional applications.

CHOOSING AN ENGINE FOR DOMESTIC GARDENS

If you have a medium sized garden, the entry-level STIHL KM 56 RC-E Engine is the a great place to start. Favored for it's lightweight and low emission 2-Mix engine, this model also features ErgoStart to make the process of starting twice as easy, allowing you get the job done with little fuss.

For larger properties, the STIHL KM 94 RC-E is an excellent option. This engine also features ErgoStart and our 2-MIX technology, plus it has an ECOSPEED power control so you can easily control the speed of the engine from the button on the handle.

Both of these engines also come with a basic harness included as standard to help support the machine when carrying out some of the trickier tasks, such as trimming tall hedges.



CHOOSING AN ENGINE FOR PROFESSIONAL USE

If you are planning to use a Combi System in professional landscaping applications there are two options both offering power and durability.

The STIHL KM 111 R comes with a 4 MIX® engine which provides fast acceleration, more power, added torque and even greater fuel efficiency so you can work longer throughout the day.

The STIHL KM 131 R is the most powerful in the STIHL CombiSystem family it features a low-emission engine, and delivers 30% longer run times.

The professional Combi Engines combine with attachments to give landscaping professionals the ability to tackle a tremendous range of outdoor tasks without loading the trailer with a pile of tools. 

STIHL COMBI SYSTEM ATTACHMENTS

There are 13 Combi Attachments in the range - you can't beat that in terms of versatility. But what attachments should you choose? Well, this is the best part – you can choose exactly what you need, depending on the jobs you have to get done. Each attachment slides into the Combi Engine effortlessly and is secured via a quick-release coupling system,

GRASS TRIMMING & SCRUB CUTTING

If you need to trim overgrown weeds or scrub, concider a brushcutter attachment. 

The STIHL FSB-KM uses an AutoCut C 6-2 mowing head with nylon line, and has a curved shaft. The curved shaft gives you more control for precise trimming along lawn edges or trimming in restricted spaces. STIHL FS-KM AC 25-2 uses an AutoCut C 25-2 mowing head with nylon line, and should be used for clearing grass or weeds along walls or fences, under hedges or along paths.

For more challenging jobs, the STIHL FS-KM GSB has a metal blade to cut through stubborn scrubs. The amazing STIHL RG-KM can even cut weeds in gravel or asphalt.



HEDGE TRIMMING & PRUNING

When tackling hedges and tree branches, you have plenty of options too.

The STIHL HL-KM 145º Hedge Trimmer attachment can be adjusted in increments up to 145º without using tools. This makes it easy to trim across the top of tall hedges, or even close to the ground. STIHL FH-KM 145º provides the equivent in a Scrubcutter version.

For pruning jobs, the STIHL HT-KM Pruning Attachment provides a long-reach solution for tree branches and limbs – excellent for commercial and arborist applications. It has a 30cm guide bar with a ¼”P Picco Micro 3 saw chain for precise cutting.

CLEANING & SWEEPING

STIHL Combi Engines go even further with convenient cleaning and sweeping attachments to help keep your garden in order.

For looking after driveways, roadways and cobbled areas, the STIHL KB-KM Bristle Sweeper easily handles stones and other debris. It has stiff bristles, and a backwards rotating brush with a guard to stop dirt and debris flicking all over you as you work.

For jobs requiring more precision, the STIHL KW-KM Sweeper Attachment is designed for more precise sweeping and can even clear water from large surface areas.



LAWN EDGING & BLOWING

The STIHL FCB-KM curved shaft edging tool makes it simple to edge along paths, driveways or flower beds. It has an adjustable depth control wheel and a built-in blade which gives you a handy sight line to make it easy to get the neatest edges in no time!

As for grass clipping and general debris left behind, the incredibly useful STIHL BG-KM Blower Attachment is light-weight and provides great power for final touch ups around the house.

CULTIVATING & HARVESTING

Specifically made for tilling small areas and garden rows, the STIHL BF-KM achieves great soil depth preparation for its user with minimal effort.

As for harvesting requirements, the STIHL SP-KM Attachment is a favoured option for the easy harvesting of nuts, pistachios and olives and is a true demonstration of the versatility of the STIHL Combi system.
