How To Refill the Nylon Line in a AutoCut 25-2 and AutoCut 27-2
REFILLING THE STIHL AUTOCUT 25-2 AND AUTOCUT 27-2
The AutoCut 25-2 and 27-2 are standard mowing heads for mid-range trimmers and brush cutters, capable of holding up to 8m of 2.4 mm orange trimmer line.
Follow the video below for instructions on how to reload your trimmer line.
- 1. Press sideways on the recesses and open the mowing head.
- 2. Twist the spool slightly and then remove it from the top casing.
- 3. Take two lines of equal length. Insert the end of one line into the eyelet and wind it tightly and evenly.
- 4. Hook the end of the line into the groove on the spool.
- 5. Insert the end of the second line in the opposite side of the spool. Fill the second chamber with line by repeating steps 3 and 4.
- 6. Insert the spool into the top casing. Remove the ends of the lines from the grooves in the spool and place them in the eyelet provided in the mowing head.
- 7. Clip the base into the mowing head; pull the line hard until the spool jumps up slightly.
- 8. Leave around 10 cm of line each side; trim any excess line.
IS YOUR NYLON LINE BRITTLE AND HARD TO WORK WITH?
When Nylon Line is stored it can become brittle and difficult to work with, we recommend soaking the new mowing line in water for at least 24 hours before loading it in your Grass Trimmer. Hydrating the nylon line increases its elasticity. You can keep the mowing line wrapped around the reel and place it directly into the water.
