As a minimum, we recommend at least one service per year for domestic tools. If your STIHL machine is in heavy use, a service may be required more frequently.
STIHL WARRANTY
All STIHL tools purchased online come with the same product warranty as those bought in-store. For private, domestic, commercial or professional use of petrol powered tools the warranty period is 2 years. Tools used by government and local authorities are covered for 1 year, while those used in hire or rental have a 6-month warranty. Accessories and cutting attachments are covered for 1 year used by domestic, professional and government. STIHL battery and electric products have a 5-year warranty for domestic use and 3 years for professional use.

(1) Adding a bottle of STIHL HP Ultra Oil (minimum 1L) to your cart when you make your purchase.
(2) Use the eligible STIHL petrol tool for personal, domestic or household purposes.
By meeting these requirements, you'll extend your warranty and help improve the performanbce and lifespan of your tool.

ABOUT THE STIHL WARRANTY

Tools used by government and local authorities are covered for 1 year, while those used in forestry or professional settings have a 6-month warranty. STIHL polymer-bodied or decked lawnmowers used domestically carry a 10-year warranty on the polymer body (excluding associated parts), the handle, and the catcher. Accessories—including toys—spare parts, and cutting attachments are covered for 1 month. STIHL battery and electric products have a 2-year warranty, as do STIHL 4-Mix engines.
Double your STIHL petrol tool warranty by adding 1L of STIHL HP Ultra Oil or purchasing MotoMix, and taking your tool to a STIHL SHOP for its post-purchase check and regular servicing. This boosts your warranty.

(2) Taking your STIHL tool into your local STIHL SHOP for its post purchase check, and then its ongoing regular service.

STIHL SERVICE ADVANTAGE
STIHL Service Advantage is a programme where you can extend the warranty of your STIHL 2 MIX, STIHL 4 MIX® and STIHL 2 Stroke petrol-fueled product, if you use STIHL HP Ultra Oil or STIHL MotoMix in your STIHL 2 MIX, STIHL 4 MIX® and STIHL 2 Stroke Petrol Machine, and get it serviced every year by your local STIHL SHOP. By joining the programme, you effectively double the warranty to 4 years on a STIHL 2 MIX, STIHL 4 MIX® and STIHL 2 Stroke petrol machine when you use it in a Domestic, Lifestyle Block, or Farming application.
