    The STIHL HLA 56 is a cordless long reach hedge trimmer designed for home users and gardeners who need to maintain taller hedges with ease. With a total length of 210 cm and an adjustable cutting head, it offers excellent reach and flexibility. Lightweight and easy to store, it’s ideal for garden maintenance around the home, and part of the STIHL AK Battery System, so you can use the same battery across multiple tools.

    Trim Tall Hedges Safely: With a reach of 210 cm, you can trim high hedges from the ground, no ladder required. For even taller hedges, an optional 50 cm extension shaft is available.

    Adjustable Cutting Head for Versatility: The cutting head adjusts from -45° to +90°, allowing you to trim the top and sides with ease and precision.

    Smooth, Efficient Cutting: Double-sided blades cut cleanly on both the upward and downward stroke. The droplet-shaped design helps guide branches into the cutting teeth for a neat, even finish.

    Lightweight & Easy to Store: Designed to be light and easy to handle, the HLA 56 can be quickly disassembled without tools for compact storage and transport. The longest section when disassembled is just 115 cm.

    Q: How long will the Battery last?

    A: The recommend AK 20 Battery will last up to 100 minutes or enough time to trim up to 380m² of hedges. This does depend on what is being cut and how the tool is being used.

    Q: How long does it take to charge?

    A: To fully charge an AK 20 Battery it takes 180 minutes, or to charge it up to 80%, it takes 135 minutes with the AL 101 charger.

    Q: Are the Batteries Interchangeable?

    A: Yes, all of the tools in the AK Cordless System use the same style of battery. There are three different batteries in the range, which all have different capacities. For the HLA 56, we recommend the medium capacity AK 20 battery as it will provide the perfect balance between wieght and power, but you can also use the AK 10 and AK 30 battery in this tool.

    Q: Will the blades need sharpening?

    A: Keeping the blades sharp will give a neat cut on whatever you are trimming. If you notice that the blades are getting jammed easily or the machine is struggling, the blades may need sharpening. Our STIHL SHOP retailers can do this for you.

    Q: What should I wear when using this tool?

    A: We recommend that you wear snug-fitting clothes, eye protection, gloves and sturdy boots or shoes, and tie back long hair.

    Q: Does this tool come with a warranty?

    A: Yes, the HLA 56 comes with a STIHL domestic 2 year warranty.
