How to use a chainsaw safely?
Using a chainsaw safely begins with the right habits. Before starting, inspect the chainsaw to confirm all safety features are intact and working. Modern models include systems to reduce the risk of accidents, but these rely on proper condition and correct handling. Wear protective gear suited to the task. PPE including boots, eye and ear protection, chaps or safety trousers are also required. During usage, hold the saw with both hands, keep a steady stance and stay aware of the guide bar’s tip to reduce kickback risk. If any part looks damaged, don’t use the saw until it’s been checked.
