The two integrated carrying handles make the Cordless Mower easier to load or return to the upright position. They can also be used as lashing points, for example for securing the machine with a strap during transport.
ECO Mode Saves Battery Power

This feature increases or reduces the speed of the blade depending on the conditions, this allows you to get the most life from a single battery charge. Eco Mode can be switched on or off.

Flow-optimised Blades

All STIHL Battery Lawn Mowers have a flow-optimised blade, which is designed to lift the grass, cut it neatly then push it straight into the catcher, without using unnecessary battery life, moving the air around in the deck.

Self Propelled

Self-propelled mowers will save you time and effort. The mower mechanically moves forward so less effort is required from you. The vario speed drive on the RMA 448 means that the speed of the mower can be easily adjusted to suit the job in hand. Simply increase the speed when mowing large, flat areas or decrease it when mowing smaller areas or around obstacles to make mowing effortless. The perfect cut, at the perfect pace!
Second Battery Slot

If the first battery in your mower runs out, it will automatically switch to the second battery without interrupting your work.

Power Boost

With intelligent electronics, STIHL power tools and batteries communicate with each other. If the mower and battery are equipped with the POWER BOOST function, the battery always provides the maximum possible power for the respective application. The mower will also temporarily adjusts the power if it is used too intensively, to ensure optimum battery life.

Q: What size garden will it mow?

A: With the recommended AP 300 S Battery, this Lawnmower will mow a medium sized lawn of up to 510 m².

Q: How long does it take to charge the battery?

A: To fully charge an AP 300 S Battery with an AL 300 charger, it takes 80 minutes, but you can charge it up to 80% in 55 minutes.

Q: Are the batteries interchangeable?

A: Yes, all of the tools in the AP Cordless System use the same style of battery. There are different Batteries in the range, which all have different capacities. For the RMA 448, we recommend the larger capacity AP 300 S Battery to provide more power. The AP 100 does not have enough power to operate this machine effectively.

Q: What Should I Wear?

A: We recommend that you wear sturdy boots or shoes and snug-fitting clothes and eye protection.

Q: Will I need to sharpen the blades?

A: Keeping the Lawnmower blades sharp will give your lawn a better finish. You can have your blades sharpened at your nearest STIHL SHOP.

Q: Does the performance of the Battery reduce as it depletes?

A: No there is no gradual drop in performance – the battery runs at full power until it is fully depleted.

Q: How should I clean my Lawnmower?

A: If you wish to clean your Battery Lawnmower use a damp cloth or soft brush. For safety reasons tie your hair back and wear gloves.

Q: Where should I store my Lawnmower?

A: In a dry clean place away from where children have access.

Q: How do I look after my Battery?

A: Don't get it wet or use it in extreme temperatures.
