The square telescopic shaft features a twist-lock clamp for quick, tool-free length adjustment, allowing you to easily adapt the tool to different tasks.
Blade Tip Protector

The tip protector helps protect the blades from damage when cutting near the ground or along walls.

Double Stroke / Double-Sided Blades

The double-stroke blade gives a precise cutting pattern on your hedge. The two overlapping blades are laser-cut and diamond-ground. They are very powerful and durable. The counter-rotating blade ensures extremely low vibration and smooth running, making it easier to maintain a straight cutting line.
Quick Blade Angle Adjustment

The cutter bar can be adjusted to different angles -45° to +70° depending on the application. For safe and compact transport, fold the cutter bar parallel to the shaft until it engages automatically.

Q: How long will the Battery last?

A: The AS 2 Battery will last approximately 40 minutes, depending on what you are trimming.

Q: How long does it take to charge?

A: 70 minutes, or to charge it up to 80%, it takes 55 minutes

Q: Are the Batteries Interchangeable?

A: Yes, all of the tools in the AS Cordless System use the same AS 2 battery. .

Q: Will the blades need sharpening?

A: Keeping the blades sharp will give a neat cut on whatever you are trimming. If you notice that the blades are getting jammed easily or the machine is struggling, the blades may need sharpening. Our STIHL SHOP retailers can do this for you.

Q: What should I wear when using this tool?

A: We recommend that you wear snug-fitting clothes, eye protection, gloves and sturdy boots or shoes, and tie back long hair.

Q: Does this tool come with a warranty?

A: Yes, the HLA 40 comes with a domestic 5 year STIHL warranty
