The MS 261 C-M is a lightweight and compact professional petrol Chainsaw. Featuring STIHL M-Tronic (M) which automatically controls the engine to suit the operating conditions, including temperature, fuel quality and dirty air filters. Ensuring optimal engine performance at all times. This saw has the features required for demanding jobs and can handle all day every day work.

NOTE:

Your Chainsaw will require engine oil and bar lube. We recommend STIHL HP ULTRA TWO STROKE ENGINE OIL and STIHL SYNTH PLUS CHAIN LUBRICATION for your machine.

2-MIX Engine

Modern, powerful and economical engine. Provides fuel savings and reduced emissions.
Anti-vibration System

Vibrations from power tools can lead to negative effects on blood vessels. STIHL has developed a system for minimizing the levels. This also helps reduce operator fatigue and provides a more comfortable working experience.

Ematic Chain Lubrication System

A reservoir holds bar oil until it is picked up by the passing chain. This achieves maximum lubrication resulting in longer wear and less oil consumption.
Single Master Control Lever

All the important functions of start, choke, throttle and stop are operated via a single lever.

Easy Open Fuel and Oil Tanks

Special caps on the fuel and oil tanks allow for easy opening and re-fueling.
Reduced Air Filter Maintenance

A pre-separation filter system is used to clean the air before it reaches the main air filter. The benefit is that maintenance of the machine is reduced.

STIHL M-Tronic™ System

The STIHL M-Tronic™ system electronically manages the air/fuel and ignition requirements of the saw. Ensuring optimal performance in all operating conditions. This technology also provides a simplified starting procedure.
HD2 Filter

This air filter keeps even the finest dust away from the engine, which increases the service life of the engine. The HD2 filter element is made from a robust long life material that can be washed repeatedly. For best results we recommend the use of STIHL Varioclean and warm water.

Side Chain Tensioner

There is a tensioning screw on the side of the Chainsaw through the sprocket cover. This is easy to use and removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain.
STIHL ElastoStart

A spring or rubber element in the starter handle is used to balance out the peck compression resistance when pulling the starter cord. This reduces the perceived starting effort by up to 30%.

Controlled-delivery Oil Pump

Different bar lengths, wood types and sawing techniques require different amounts of oil. The controlled-delivery oil pump allows the user to select just the right amount of oil for the job.
Decompression Valve

The decompression valve, vents compression in the cylinder to reduce the cranking effort.

Faulty saw

Fuel all leaked out of tank as I was filling it for the first time straight out of the box, leaving a big dead patch of grass on the lawn. This was due to fuel hose inside tank not being connected up. Sent saw back and was repaired. Other than that it works great with heaps of power
